Terms of service

These terms apply when you use TaskRooms at www.taskrooms.com or in the TaskRooms apps for iPhone and Android (together, the “service”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you use TaskRooms for an organization, you agree on its behalf and confirm you are allowed to. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

• You must be at least 16 years old to use TaskRooms.
• Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep it up to date.
• Keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and should tell us at support@taskrooms.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
• One person per account. Don't share an account or create accounts by automated means.

Work in TaskRooms lives in workspaces. The person who creates a workspace is its Owner and controls it, including its members, plan and billing, and whether it is deleted. Owners and Admins decide who joins and what role each member has. If you join a workspace someone else owns, they can change your role or remove you, and the content in that workspace belongs to it rather than to your account.

You keep ownership of everything you and your team put into TaskRooms, such as tasks, comments, messages and files (“your content”). You give us permission to store, copy, display and process your content only as needed to run the service for you, for example to show it to your teammates, sync it across devices, create link previews and keep backups.

You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to upload it. We handle personal information as described in our privacy policy.

Please don't use TaskRooms to:

• Break the law, or infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights.
• Upload malware, or anything harmful, abusive, harassing, hateful or sexually explicit involving minors.
• Send spam, including unwanted invitations.
• Probe, scan or test the service's security, or get around its limits, without our written permission.
• Disrupt or overload the service, or access it by automated means other than through features we provide.
• Copy, resell or reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. In the mobile app you can report a message or comment, or block the person who sent it, by long pressing it; you can also email support@taskrooms.com. We review reports within 24 hours and remove content, and suspend accounts, that break these rules.

TaskRooms has a Free plan and paid plans, described on our pricing section. Paid plans are bought per workspace by its Owner, on the web, and billed in advance monthly or yearly through our payment provider, Razorpay. Prices are shown before you pay and may include applicable taxes.

• Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
• You can cancel at any time from Settings, then Billing. Cancelling stops future renewals and moves the workspace to the Free plan. If the workspace uses more than the Free plan allows, you'll be asked to reduce that first.
• Payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. If you think you were charged in error, email support@taskrooms.com and we'll look into it.
• We may change prices for future billing periods. We'll tell workspace Owners in advance, and the change applies from the next renewal.
• If a renewal payment fails, the workspace's paid features may stop until payment is made.

We work hard to keep TaskRooms available, fast and secure, but we may change, add or remove features over time, and the service may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. If we make a change that significantly reduces what a paid plan includes, we'll let affected Owners know in advance.

TaskRooms relies on other companies to run, such as our sign-in, hosting, storage, payment and email providers, listed in our privacy policy. Signing in with Google or Apple, downloading the app from the App Store or Google Play, and paying through Razorpay are also subject to those companies' own terms.

TaskRooms, including its software, design, logo and name, belongs to us and is protected by law. These terms give you the right to use the service as offered, not any ownership of it. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.

You can stop using TaskRooms and delete your account at any time; see how to delete your account. Owners can delete their workspaces from Settings.

We may suspend or close an account or workspace that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where the law requires it. Where reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to export your content.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Please keep your own copies of anything critical.

To the extent the law allows, TaskRooms will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and USD 100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

If you use TaskRooms for a business, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from claims by others arising from your content or your breach of these terms.

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll change the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let you know by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using TaskRooms after that, the updated terms apply.

These terms, together with our privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and TaskRooms about the service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term right away doesn't mean we give it up. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the service.
